Melandri Set To Have Knee Operation

Marco Melandri's 2017 campaign took a small blow after the Italian injured his right knee during a tribute soccer match on Sunday in memory of Doriano Romboni. He will undergo an operation to the meniscus on his right leg. 

The rider from Ravenna, who on Friday finished his last run of testing for the year on his Aruba.it Racing - Ducati at the Circuito de Jerez, was walking on the football pitch when he stumbled and suffered the injury. He will be operated on, on Wednesday 30th of November, by Dr. Catani in the Polyclinic of Modena. The Aruba.it Racing - Ducati team will later facilitate Melandri's recovery, as the Italian rider plans to be fit again by the first preseason tests in January 2017.
